Rehearsals are about to start for our 85th Birthday Concert Party. This special concert will feature a selection of pieces from every decade since the choir was formed in 1941. Sadly, there are no original members still singing with us but we continue to enjoy the benefits to our mental and social health, benefits which inspired the choir to form during the dark days of war. If you want to sing with us, new members are welcome at the start of every new term – the next new term starts on 13th April 2026.
Mickleover Singers put the Rhythm into The Rhythm of Life!
On Saturday 28th March 2026 a full choir of Mickleover Singers performed their spring concert: The Rhythm of Life and it was one of the best yet. The Rhythm of Life, from the musical Sweet Charity, opened and closed the show dramatically. The concert also featured another superbly talented young musician, performing solo pieces on the harp, as well as a beautiful vocal piece from Carousel. As usual, there was an appreciative and enthusiastic audience at St Johns and we raised money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Come and join Mickleover Singers at our Christmas Concert, on Saturday 13th December, 7:30pm. Bring your singing voices as there will be plenty of opportunity for audience participation!
Summer Concert 2025: Kaleidoscope
Saturday 5th July 2025 saw the Mickleover Singers perform their summer concert featuring a Kaleidoscope of pieces from across the globe, including Japan, the USA and Sweden. As always there was an extremely appreciative audience in St John’s Church who loved the singing of a fantastic selection of songs featuring some very realistic animal sounds, particularly during the rendition of How Much is That Doggie!
